Can Google do the googly on the Chinese authoritarian regime.

This is definitely big, with Google letting the Chinese authorities know something is not right with the way they govern. It definitely throws a bad light- not that they have any credits in the past- on the Chinese government.

I think Google has finally lived up to its motto which says 'Do no Evil'. I am no expert on Market and Business, but what I understand is that Google being the world's largest internet company has a huge leverage. And if Google walks out from China, then the people in China have a lot to lose. As one Chinese blogger has written, 'If the three of the world's biggest sites google, youtube and facebook are not available inside China, China is going to be cut off from the rest of the world'. Maybe the Chinese authorities want to have only Chinternet and not internet.

I hope China is not walking in the direction of North Korea.

By the way, the term googly is used in Cricket Games, when a bowler throws the ball in a spin that can confuse a batsman. So maybe this time round, the Chinese authorities will find themselves scratching their head and chin with this Googly from Google.
